Player eligibility is based on the player's birth year (see image below).
KMLFC is aware of the recent change to cutoffs by USA Softball, we are keeping the birth year age brackets in order for KMLFC teams to be able to compete in tournaments, whether or not the tournaments changed their age eligibility requirements.
We are excited to have your child tryout for the Kettle Moraine Lasers Fastpitch Program. We have a thorough process for tryouts which should allow each player to show their potential.

Each family should register their child(ren) for their 2024 age eligibility group. (This is a change from previous years.) For the 2024 season, there will be an emphasis on each child playing with their age eligible team. Exceptions will be made for a child of advanced skills, or in some instances a specific team need. This will be determined by the tryout evaluators and the KMLFC advisory board.
All tryouts will be held at Kettle Moraine High School, 349 N Oak Crest Dr., Wales, WI 53183
At tryouts you should bring:
1. A check or checks made out to KM Community Education (Please see below for amounts). Full payment is mandatory and a tryout will not be allowed if payment is not made.
2. Players will provide their own bat, glove, cleats and fielding face masks (batting gloves, if desired).
3. Players should wear softball pants (preferred) or shorts.
Once arriving at tryouts with your child, we ask you to check in with us at our tent/table and turn in all player fees. Once all players have been registered, we will gather the players and head to the field for tryouts. Parents will not be allowed next to the field and are asked to either leave or watch from near the registration area. After tryouts, parents will be directed toward the field for a short meeting, and they can collect their child(ren).
We ask you to fill out this registration for each child in your family who may be trying out. This is the contact information that will be used for all communication regarding tryouts, and throughout next season.
All player fees must be paid at tryouts. Checks should be made out to KM Community Education.
The following Player Fees will be assessed:
The club fees listed above include tournament and league fees, indoor and outdoor practice facilities/expenses, KM Player Fee and team equipment expenses.
NOTE: Uniforms are purchased separately by families and ordered at the winter meeting. KMLFC uses the same uniform design for a 3 year cycle. For our returning players, we will be wearing the same uniform next year. 2024 is the last year of the three year cycle.
